Time Capsule Project

Dear members,

The outputs prepared by the Turkish National Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering  within the scope of the Time Capsule Project of ISSMGE are presented below.

a. The first of these products is the evaluation report of a survey study sent to our members in March 2022. Thank you to all our members who responded to our survey.

b. The summary of this survey evaluation report in poster format prepared for the Time Capsule Project is in the file below.

c. Another product prepared within the scope of this project is a video interview. This video includes a short interview with our distinguished Professor Ergün Toğrol, where we talked about the early days of geotechnical engineering in Turkey. d. A eight pages poster was prepared narrating Karl von Terzaghi's days in Istanbul in 1910’s. A photograph present in the Civil Engineering Department of Istanbul Technical University was used as the main theme. For the information here, we contacted Prof. Dr. Ergün Toğrol and read the late Prof. Dr. Kemal Özüdoğru’s book entitled: "Learning as You Live: The Life of Karl Terzaghi”.

e. ZMGM - Time Capsule Project Outputs file contains a short presentation of these products.
